Providence won a close match with Jeffersonville 3 – 2 at the Red Devils home courts.
At first singles Stephanie Smith lost a tough match 1 – 6, 5 – 7. Stephanie began the second set playing very competitive tennis leading most of the set. After the second rain delay of the day Steph dropped the set to her opponent.
At second singles in the longest match of the day Kady Bandy lost in three sets with the final set being lost in a tiebreaker. Kady lost the first set 4-6, but won the second 6-2; in the final set she lost 6-7 with a tiebreaker loss of 5 – 7. Kady played a good match against a strong opponent.
At third singles Megan Jakoby won 6-0, 6-2. Megan went out and played another strong match dominating most of the play the entire match. Megan was the first player to finish.
At first doubles Emily DiNoto and Courtney Murphy played some of their best doubles of the season and won 6-1, 6-2, in the second set the tandem lost two games to make the score 3-2 before closing the match strongly.
At second doubles Hanna Gish and Hillary Ernstberger started slow falling behind 5-2 before taking the set to a tiebreaker which they lost. In the second set they again fell behind 5-2 and rallied to lead 6-5 before losing the next game to play a second tiebreaker in the match, they won this tiebreaker 7-2. Riding a second set victory the team dominated to close out the match 6-2.
