Providence defeated Clarksville 3 – 2 in a very close match on Monday. Providence wins came at 3rd singles and both doubles.
Number 1 and 2 singles players of Stephanie Smith and Kady Bandy played good close matches in losing efforts. Stephanie lost to a very strong opponent 2-6, 2-6. Kady lost in the longest match of the 4-6, 2-6.
Freshman Megan Jaoby won 6-3, 6-4, she played a very strong second set, playing very good tennis.
Senior Emily DiNoto and junior Courtney Murphy won 6-1, 6-2. This was quickest match of the day after having the longest match in their previous outing.
Junior Hanna Gish and sophomore Hillary Ernstberger won 7-5, 6-4 in a somewhat off day for this duo.
Reserve player Natalie Sisson won 8-1.
This was a good win over a strong sectional opponent.
