Providence lost a close match to Seymour 3-2. The end of the match was highlighted by third singles and first doubles going three sets, the teams each won one of the final matches thus the final score of 3-2 in favor of the Owls. Senior Travis Cunningham had an impressive win at number 2 singles winning the match 6-0, 6-0 and was the first match off the courts. The other victory for the Pioneers came at third singles with Senior Jacob Kraft winning in three set, 6-2, 3-6, 7-5. Jacob came from behind in the third set for the victory. Number one doubles of Senior Nick Primavera and Sophomore Brenden Popson lost a three set match 4-6, 6-3, 2-6.
The junior varsity also won two matches, but lost 3-2 as a team. Daniel Becht won 4-1, 4-0 at 1st singles and Andrew Jerdonek won 4-1, 4-1 at third singles. This was the first win for both of these competitors. Each of the other three matches were lost in a third set super tie breaker. The JV team plays sets to 4 games and must win by two games and the third set is a super tie breaker to 10 by 2.
